John Butterworth: Overland to Nepal

John, a former journalist and newspaper editor, has worked on nationals, regional dailies and weeklies, and run his own paper. He was awarded the MBE for services to journalism and charity. He has worked on papers in Wolverhampton, Stoke, Bromsgrove and Shrewsbury and has written six books. Married to Jan with two grown-up sons, the couple will be celebrating their golden wedding in July this year.

John will be talking about his adventures when he helped to take a Land Rover with seven others across Europe and through Iran and Afghanistan to deliver it to a leprosy hospital in Nepal. John will tell of his many dramas and funny stories on this 8,500 mile overland trip
