Inspired by memories of the 1978 World Cup and seven years spent living in Argentina, Don't Cry for Me Kenny Dalglish is a moving and humorous one-man play exploring identity, memory and belonging.
The story follows Danny McLure, from his football-obsessed childhood to adulthood, reflecting on his journey from Scotland's ill-fated 1978 World Cup campaign to serving in the Falklands War. Blending sport, politics and romance with warmth and wit, this acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe hit is a powerful and deeply human story that stays with you long after the final whistle.
"A very moving and deep story about football, friendship, human rights & equality, David Bowie and love. A must-see performance with real genuine storytelling and human touch. Highly recommended."
Don't Cry for Me Kenny Dalglish is written, directed and performed by Andrew Macmillen.
This is a one-act play followed by a live Q&A.
